Arnold Mill Elementary Mission Statement

A.  School MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission at Arnold Mill Elementary School is to provide excellence in educating the emerging generation through high expectations, teamwork, communication and differentiated learning environments designed to increase the performance of all students

 

B.  School VISION STATEMENT:

The Arnold Mill Elementary staff will provide quality education through professional development in cooperative learning communities and by creating and implementing research-based, differentiated lessons to maximize student achievement.  

 

C.  School BELIEF STATEMENTS:

* All students can learn albeit at different rates and styles and learning is the responsibility of the school, home and community. *  Through the use of research based teaching, data-driven differentiated techniques and a safe and secure environment, high levels of student learning can be achieved for all students. *  Students will be prepared to be effective decision-makers in a technologically-rich and culturally-diverse environment that cultivates critical thinking and problem solving abilities. * Students are encouraged to be good citizens which includes being responsible, respectful and self-disciplined. *  Staff members will provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment while working together as a team and being accountable for improving student achievement.

 

School Profile

Arnold Mill Elementary School is a kindergarten through fifth grade building with an average enrollment of approximately 789 students. Class sizes range from 18 to 28, depending upon the grade level and section. Students participate in art, P.E., music, library and guidance lessons on a regular basis. A framework for developing differentiated lessons to intensify student achievement is provided through cooperative learning communities. A spectrum of services and teaching models exist for all students, including students within the AIM (gifted) program, Response to Intervention tiers, Early Intervention Program, English Language Learners program, Special Education program, and Students with 504 plans. Arnold Mill ES is partnered with the Marcus Autism Center in training and giving feedback to teachers concerning SEE-KS, as AMES houses three self-contained units for autism, and mild/moderate students.
